Intro to the Passion Project: Welcome to the Troupe! Review goals, expectations, and the collaborative nature of what they’ll be working on, participation is necessary
5 minute Physical Warm Up
Cran-activate Warm up: Have students watch a video of Once in a Lifetime by the Talking Heads.
I will then open up a discussion about the music video.
Questions to ask:
How does this song make you feel? Did you enjoy it?If so, what did you like? What did you not like? How is he dressed? What did you notice about how he moves? How does David Byrne describe his life’s journey? How do his lyrics make you feel? I will then pull up the lyrics and we will do a quick review of verse and the chorus.
Questions to ask:
What is the song’s intention?How is he describing his life?Do you feel like he’s successful in his life?Do you feel like he is happy with where he is?What does he want? Is he reflecting?Is he trying to convince himself of something?Now I want us to reflect on our own lives from a baby to now, think of how you’ve grown. Think of things that you used to do that you don’t do anymore.
Questions to ask:
Think of things you still do.What and who brings you joy?What makes you feel lucky?What makes you feel excited?How would you describe your life?Who are the key players?What is important to you?What do you love to do?
