"When I have nothing to say, my lips are sealed. Say something once, why say it again?"
How to write a monologue you will perform.
Define monologue. Now we’re going to write a monologue. Every monologue will be written on a blank google doc which they will share with me throughout the process. As we progress, each student will get private one-on-one instruction, evenly split between the students. We will discuss plot, setting, if they want to focus on one specific moment or the whole span of their life. How can they say it concisely? Discuss intention. What do they want to get across to their audience? If you can imagine yourself, in 30 years, what would you say to yourself now? Do you want to listen to your advice?
Don’t sweat it.
This is my example of a monologue.
